Meet the Team

Meet our dedicated, friendly holiday camp team

We keep our groups deliberately small so every child is truly known, supported and included. Our team is highly trained, approachable and professional, with a genuine passion for creating a positive environment where children feel confident, make new friends and leave each day smiling. Most of our staff already work in schools as teachers, coaches or teaching assistants. Both of the companies directors are also teachers in Cheltenham.

As an independent provider, we’re able to adapt quickly to the needs and energy of each group. While we plan engaging, well-organised activity programmes, we’re equally led by the children themselves. Whether that turns into a spontaneous game of rounders, an energetic water fight, or a calmer creative session after a busy sports session, we make sure every day strikes the right balance between excitement, choice and downtime.

Zach is one of the directors at Cotswold Active Camps and is the main point of contact for all bookings and parent support.

Zach began his coaching journey while studying at Hartpury College, working at local holiday camps from the age of 16. This early experience inspired him to launch Cotswold Active Camps in 2022.

Zach has over 12 years’ experience working in holiday camps, ranging from large programmes hosting up to 140 children per day to smaller, more personalised groups like those at Cotswold Active Camps.

Alongside this, Zach led Maths and Computing at Bourton Primary Academy, for a number of years. He now teaches at an independent school in Cheltenham, where he leads Maths and coaches Year 5/6 sport, fixtures and events.

James is one of the directors at Cotswold Active Camps and plays a key role in delivering high-quality sport and activity sessions across our camps.

James has been involved in sport from a young age and has spent many years playing and coaching with Stow-on-the-Wold Rugby Football Club, including a long period as 1st Team Captain. His leadership, experience and enthusiasm for developing young players have been central to the strong sporting culture we promote at Cotswold Active Camps.

With a genuine passion for helping children grow in confidence through sport, James brings energy, encouragement and a positive team environment to every session. His love of sport also extends to his family life, and you’ll often see his son Hugo at the rugby club and at camps, reflecting the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere that we aim to create.
